Who We Are

Community Reach

Community Reach began as an idea from a community need. Pre-COVID, there were over 800 transient children in the school system (meaning they didn’t have a permanent resident). These children were either on the streets, in shelters, or in hotels.

In August 2020, the number jumped to almost 1300. Community members assisted in delivering food and other essential items to these families without homes. Volunteers “adopted” this community and helped them find jobs; helped some get driver’s licenses or bus passes that allowed them to get better jobs; and helped in countless other ways that most would take for granted.

Community Reach was born in the Summer of 2021 and continued to provide essential items for homeless women and children.

One of our main visions is Community Village. This is a planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for families coming out of homelessness. Development of Community Reach, this transformative residential program exists to provide a path and help empower them to achieve greater self-sufficiency. By creating a community where similar families are helping each other, it will give them strength and encouragement to be their best selves. It’s more than having walls or a roof – it’s belonging. It takes a village – help us build it!

We service all of Central Florida and partner with other non-profits to help feed, educate, and meet the needs of homeless families.
